Testimonials from mums and dads....
I received weekly parent support from Anji between June 2024 and May 2026 during one of the most difficult periods of my life. My 16-year-old daughter, who has ADHD, had moved out of the family home at her instigation. Over the previous three years, our relationship had deteriorated significantly. She had become increasingly hostile and aggressive towards me, was self-harming, and no longer wanted to spend time with our family.
My overriding objective when I started working with Anji was simple: I didn't want to lose my daughter. Despite everything that had happened, I wanted to find a way to rebuild our relationship and remain a positive presence in her life.
Anji was brilliant.
From the very beginning, she provided a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where I could talk openly about what was happening. What stood out most was that it always felt as though Anji was in my corner. While my focus was on my daughter and trying to repair our relationship, Anji never lost sight of me as a parent going through an incredibly painful experience. She made me feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way. It genuinely felt as though she was standing alongside me, helping me navigate each challenge and reminding me that
my feelings and wellbeing mattered too.
Her insight, empathy, and professional guidance helped me better understand both my daughter's needs and my own responses. She gave me practical tools and helped me maintain perspective during the most difficult times. What I particularly valued was that she never tried to minimise how hard things were or rush me towards a positive outlook.
There were times when I felt exhausted, defeated, and as though I wanted to walk away from the situation altogether. Anji allowed those feelings to be acknowledged and explored without judgement. She listened, validated how painful and exhsuting the situation was, and gave me the space to be honest about my feelings. She sat with me in those difficult moments, helping me process them rather than dismiss them. Through that process, I was able to reconnect with my own determination and find a way to keep moving forward.
Over the course of two years, Anji supported me to connect with my daughter and thanks to her support, my relationship with my daughter has improved enormously. Although she is unlikely to return home to live, we are now able to spend time together and genuinely enjoy each other's company. While our time together is still best in shorter periods, we have rebuilt a relationship that once seemed impossible to recover.
I am incredibly grateful for Anji's support, expertise, compassion, and encouragement throughout this journey. The progress my daughter and I have made would not have been possible without her guidance. I would wholeheartedly recommend Anji to any parent facing similar challenges. She not only helped me build a more positive relationship with my daughter, but she also helped me feel supported, valued, and less alone during one of the hardest periods of my life.
